Well, the gaming community definitely gets intense in their er... 'hobby' or lifestyle. They take things �berseriously. Like the person who stabbed someone w/ a screwdriver at one exhibition event. :eek: And come on, who wouldn't take a 'game' seriously if the prize was sponsored gaming set ups from big companies and free games/software/hardware and even beaucoup cash?! :p You ought to see Japan (and moving into the west). People put up posters of their favorite counter strike guy in the same way you would put up a footie or rugby player. Gamers are the new rockstars. They have entire TV channels showing gaming 24/7.
Er... yeah. You'll either want a card and games that support the native res of the LCD, as then it'll be way cool. However, if not, then get the biggest CRT you can find. The problem with CRTs is that they only go up to 21" (iirc, 19" viewing area, or maybe the 21 is the view area... meh. Either way, not as high as an LCD can go)

Top-10 positions are all well and good, but I want to see some real hord-core unit figures that fully show the penetration the iMac G5 is having.

Single player. Gameplay aside, I'm a huge fan of a good story. Games, books, films. Multiplayer stories just seem non-existent.
How about games based on reality tv? :D

First of all, Safari. I know a lot of people like it, and I tried to, but I hate it. It sticks and takes a ridiculously long time to load pages.
Try SafariSpeed (http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/24331) to reduce the time it takes to load pages. It's free, and you'll likely notice a vast improvement.

Someone was asking about scanner reviews - not too much that's current out there. Many reviews date from the late 90's!! I guess the push to digital cameras killed most of the market.

I should note that the 4000ED is my third generation dedicated 35mm scanner. I bought a first generation Nikon personal scanner back in 1993. Hard to get a good scan, as it's dynamic range was pretty bad. My second generation was a Polaroid Sprintscan from 1998. Much better, but single feed and still spotty with complicated slides. I bought the Nikon 4000 in 2003 and have been VERY happy with its performance.

I decided to just install it on my SSD since I want to take advantage of the speed of it. This no longer seems as buggy as it did when I installed Lion a few weeks ago and got rid of it. I can now run the VNC app "iTeleport" without problem!

The recruitment seminar is really relaxed and you will get through it as long as you be yourself, engage with the recruiters and other people there and ask plenty of questions at the end regarding the job. Don't come over too much as a hardcore Apple fanboy but talk about how much you can't put down your iPhone/iPod. During the group exercises, make sure you try and come over as a good leader but good team player at the same time - make sure that your ideas are part of the main focus but be sure to agree with ideas that you wish you though of. Otherwise, just enjoy it as it's really relaxed and you will spend most of the two and a half hours watching a presentation, videos and doing some group exercises. They get through hundreds of CV's at a time and to get the chance to be considered is a good achievement. Just out of interest, what store are you thinking of joining and what position are you after?

I too have been considering OWC but surely their RAM is just a relabel of another brand?
Everyone's RAM is just a relabel unless you're buying direct from a manufacturer like Infineon. What you're getting with the relabel is a warranty and customer service for said warranty. OWC is totally worth it, IMO.

I got my 10.5 yesterday, but I still want to go to the apple store near my office (it's only a block away). Do you guys think they will be giving the free stuff to only people who buy leopard, or does anyone in the crowd get one? I plan to buy a new bag and some accessories for my MacBook.

I'm getting a little anxious for iWork '07. Hopefully we'll finally get a spreadsheet program.
Me too. I really hope Apple kicks iWork up a notch and makes it commercial grade in terms of speed and lack of bugs, and adds in the missing features.
iWork has the potential to be brilliant. I'd love to dump MS Office once and for all. I'm there with Keynote, and with a very, very solid upgrade with Pages, I'll be able to dump Word.

Gotcha. So I think the best way to handle this would be to use Apache to handle all requests for both servers, and set up a ReverseProxy to handle traffic that should go to the Ruby server.
