could you explain why you posted this question in the macbook pro forum?
well many people thought that the first bridge was for iphone +SDK and the second bridge for mac hardware updates.

Before I take the plunge, is there is no one that feels that a tactile pro is better for typing long hours ?

You should be able to do this:
> cd /Volumes
> ls
Will give you the names of all mounted volumes -- you should see "Macintosh HD" listed, for instance. You should also see the ext hd. Use its name exactly as it is listed in the Volumes diretory. If it is indeed "New Volume," then you can:
cd "/Volumes/New Volume"
or
cd "New Volume" (if you're already in Volumes)
Notice the quotes. One funny aside, is that if you cd into "Macintosh HD," you get the same as the root directory. So your working directory can eventually be:
/volumes/macintosh hd/volumes/macintos hd/volumes/macintosh hd/.../

I've made up my mind on the basic 13" pro. I was going to buy it on June 5th, but I don't really think I should do that now. If possible I would like to get the machine with Lion installed already. Should I wait for WWDC? Its 4 days long so I guess I could wait it out, but would they release it the day of announcement, or would it be in a couple of weeks afterwards? I know this is all speculation, but I appreciate you input
Thanks :)
Thanks :)

I just don't see how Gingrich can possibly be a viable candidate. Even with the brainpower of the greatest marketers and spinsters out there...The attack ads practically write themselves:
He's not a viable candidate. He wants to participate in the extreme Republican dialogue an keep his name out there so he can rip people off into paying for awards (http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2009/10/02/ap/strange/main5357914.shtml).

I got the GT5 Ps3 bundle and am quite happy...except for the idiotic bundling of Grown Ups?????? WTF is that and why on earth would I need that movie on BluRay? Couldn't have done Cars, Bullit (going for 10 dollars anyways and snagged it), Gone in 60 or something car related? It just doesn't make sense.
But I did save 10 bucks on GT5.
But yeah they are annoying. All the consoles are due for a price drop but they won't do it for a while so instead they'll do bundles for probably 6 months or so to add "perceived value". Very common marketing tactic for moving old volume. Very typical to see this at this time and it's not really going to change until the end of their life cycles....in fact I imagine it'll get worse (ie Two games, value cards, etc).

I see you have the 16MB memory module, that the one I sold you?
Could have been, it was some time ago now! memory is not what it was. :D
I have two boxed white ones, one with a rare outer shipping box and it came with some additional Pippin literature which can be seen on my Flickr account.
http://www.flickr.com/photos/mac-collection/sets/72157623547637210/
The Black US version with the outer box and manual and the Grey/Black version from KatzMedia which is actually a chassis and plastic case unassembled, two keyboards, wireless controller and an ADB controller.

Not sure if I wanna go through with it it but how does 95USD shipped sound? Also is a zip and an EZ drive the same(sorry im a dumbass)
That sounds good. I will include an AC adapter for it and the USB cable that came with it. I'm not sure what an EZ drive is though.
Edit: Just found another zip disc I could include. Also 100MB.
If you don't take it I'll stick it up on eBay, which is what I would like to do. You may have problems with customs on your end.

Has anyone gotten or heard of anyone getting Windows to run on a Mac without an excruciatingly slow emulator? Is there any chance of this happening in the future?
Windows is compiled for x86. Macs are currently PPC. The instruction sets are totally incompatible. This is the reason for Virtual PC.
Assuming you want to run a much less capable OS then you will have to wait for:
1) MS to compile Windows for PPC not x86 (this did used to happen)
2) Wait for Intel based Macs and hope for driver support/boot loader support (maybe January).

Just from people that have it installed, are the rumours from TechCrunch true regarding it being a golden master?
It seems like Apple have a long way to go regarding what they've posted in known issues, so how can it be a golden master already?

Depends on what you call normal.
Mathematica 8 (http://www.wolfram.com/mathematica/new-in-8/)
Word processing, iTunes, iLife apps, and even pro apps such as Aperture and Final Cut. Final Cut Pro X will make more use though.

Saurik actually fixed a version, but it's sort of a beta so its not published; it's only available as a .deb file:
http://apt.saurik.com/debs/mobileterminal_364.3-12_iphoneos-arm.deb
If you have iFile or OpenSSH installed, you can use them to install it. Let me know if you need instructions.
Otherwise there are others in various non-standard Cydia repositories, which you would have to add to Cydia:
http://cydia.myrepospace.com/iDignify/ (which hasn't been working lately)
or
http://www.podzombie.com/repository/
but Saurik's actually has more features, despite the lower version number.
If you need to install it through ifile then I'm guessing you have to uninstall it through ifile as well? I haven't installed/uninstalled anything through SSH-ing or ifile yet so some instructions would be much appreciated!
Edit: is it really as simple as selecting install from within ifile? I clicked the link you gave for the beta on the iPod and safari let me open the deb file in ifile. Don't wanna mess anything up but man it sure seems simple.
Edit 2: well I went ahead and installed it, it works! Thanks a bunch.

Based on my experience, the weakest spot in mini performance is the 5200 RPM drive. I'd suggest swapping out the hard drive as the best thing one can do and certainly more cost effective than a new mini with the same slow drive!

Blondie :)

Yeah but her model is an unibody one, it shouldn't be breaking since there is nothing slamming at it every time you close the lid.
It has happened before and apple replaced it for free (under warranty). Mine has nothing of those cracks but the top part is new (faulty lcd, replaced for free).
Lol I am a guy. Blondie was just my nickname from high school. But yeah, I was wondering if the warranty would still cover my cracks for free as well. I have a few friends that have had issues with their 2009 MacBook plastic cracking as well. So I think they may head into apple and see what they can do.

These banners are just supreme. I don't think I remember ever seeing these-- only the "Think Different" ads in magazines way back when.
The "Think Different" campaigns were ingenious, and to think several years later Apple would resort to those awful, mind-numbing "dancing silhouettes" for iPod and the even more mind-numbing "Mac vs. PC" ones to appeal to the masses.
Thanks for sharing.

That article is very good but it's directed mostly to manufacturers and industry standard setters rather than end-users.
Unfortunately, it's a bit tricky. After TRIM Enabler came out about a month ago I did a secure erase. Nonetheless, the other day I ran Stellar Mac Data Recovery to undelete a file and it found a LOT of old files (almost a GB worth) that I think pre-date the secure erase. I might try a more "scientific" test when I have more time.
I plan to pass the MacBook Air down within the family when I get a new one, but I agree manufacturers need to get on the ball.
Very good to know, I hope this will be corrected with future OS and SSD upgrades. Thanks, KPom.

Well, I finally got something else different to the 6701s:
Project 6067
TPF: 5min 11s
PPD: 7906
Not bad, especially for just 60W of power.
Rob
nice! so i wonder, is it capable of bigadv units? (not that i'd do that, but knowing that it could)

Might be able to downgrade if you were JB before the upgrade and saved your keys with cydia or tiny umbrella.
