iLife integration-now that's a smart idea:attracts pro users to use iLife. And I like how you can work with the Aperture library through iLife now, and the new metadata options.

I disagree that we should avoid splitting categories. In many cases, it makes it easier to find articles if they are more categorised. If lots of people are interested in a certain 20 articles out of 200, and they all have a common theme, it makes sense to split them into a subcategory so that they don't have to skim through all 200 article names to find them. I agree with Eraserhead that CLI applications should be kept separate. Most users are not power users and don't want to delve into the command line, so are not so interested in them being mixed with other software. Conversely, those looking for information about Terminal commands won't be interested in GUI applications at that time.
Clearly there are both cases where there is too much categorisation and where there is not enough. I'm in favour of general guidelines based on the number of articles, ie new subcategories should have at least x articles, and categories with more than y articles may want to be broken up - of course, there will be exceptions, so they should be only very general guidelines.
I'm open to a big change in the category organisation of the Guides, as it is clearly badly structured in some places. However, any new structure needs to be carefully designed and agreed upon, as it is a lot of work to change and very difficult to undo.

I'm pretty sure these are all of the covers where the tint wasn't "just right" for Apple's standards. If that's the case, I can understand why they'd care, but they shouldn't.
I hope nothing legal happens to him, all he's doing is making a business off of something that wasn't going to be used but people wanted that specific customization that Apple suggested they would provide twice, but didn't.
Good for him! Wish I could come up with something like that and pay for school...

TV is trash anyway. Who has time left to waste watching commercials & shodily slapped together shows?
Have time to kill? Do something constructive on Inkpad or iDraw.
Want some light entertainment on while you do something productive? Netflix
Want something cheap and raunchy? Youpr0n
There is nothing TV does that one of these other things doesn't do better.
And yet if it weren't for those shows, most people wouldn't care about Netflix streaming.

I get notifications, but no sound..
Does anyone know if the sync will add new contacts to your phone/fb or if it just syncs data for the existing phone contacts?
Doesn't add new contacts - just amends existing ones.

I'm not saying they WILL do that on iPod, but they'd be more likely to do it than a touch-screen home button.
I don't think the gestures would be that bad anyway. I've been using 10.7 Lion for a week now and some of those 4-finger gestures work perfect on the trackpad which is almost the size of an iPod anyway.
Trackpad is larger and provides more space for fingers than the touchscreen would when you're utilizing those gestures. Difference between a swipe and a full-hand pinch.

Well what a day, Mac Expo the the Leopard launch i was pretty much at the front of the queue, well outside the Lacoste Shop anyway.
For those of you who didn't get a t-shirt and want to see the product check out http://www.flickr.com/photos/15285022@N04/ (http://www.flickr.com/photos/15285022@N04/).
My Leopard install is complete just letting Time Machine do its business now.
I've got some shots inside the store I'll get them up on Flickr ASAP.

I personally do a lot of rendering...Vector based specifically, and billing clients is an issue when it comes to architectural work.
A lot of clients view an architect as being overpaid anyways, so when they see a 100 hour bill they can get a little uneasy.
I pride myself on being able to produce the "best" & most completed set of drawings available, at the absolutely quickest time (ie, I draft like a bat out of hell, and do it accurately, though my spelling is atrocious)
often I find I must boot into 9 just to produce...however, for mid level drawing 10 is "ok" on a 450 G4, its all about simulation I'm sure (using classic)
once engsw.com releases Powercadd OSX native, I will be all over that...that should change my booting habits. Though I know a faster machine would make a world of a difference as well.

Lol the majority of comments on this story... Jealous!!!
This dude showed fantastic initiative!
And i'd say his markup is more near 50% than 10-15%.
A friend of mine actually does iPhone 4 repairs (on the blacks)- as Apple doesnt cover dropping and shattering your phone- and i believe the units, which are expensive as one cannot just replace the glass but also the LCD + digitizer on ip4, cost him around $100 and he fits them within up to half an hour for 200$.
Depending on how you react to the price you may get a 'discount' of 20%.
9/10 dont care just want their baby back lol:apple::D

What are people mainly using the Push for? I certainly wouldn't want to be updated every time one of my friends posts on Facebook... I know there are different settings - just wondering what kind of updates people use this for.
You don't get notified everytime one of your friends posts on Facebook. You get notified everytime someone posts something to you though.

Two questions:
1) Is that an iPad on the table?
2) Who paid for the coffee? :D
-Kevin
1) Duh. If it were Android based, it would have coffee on it.
2) "Who cares how they get it". LOL

In america, racism is legal, and should be, least one day freedom of speech is so stifled that anyone who isn't, say, blonde haired, blue eyed, be subject to scrutiny.
I don't know about Britain, but what I do know is this: "I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it."

All mah customers is scared of you ... you bein' black and all ... so they'all stand in the other line and make my other checker do all the work.
So's I gots to fire you and hire me more white checkers.
Yeah. Let's bring back those days ... when America was great.
Haha your golden age?
Really though.
We can choose not to employ someone born stupid because they'd do a worse job so why can we not also choose not to employ somebody born of a particular ethnicity if they'd do a worse job because of it?
To clarify, I don't think we should practise racism. Please never quote me out of context. I'm just amused by the logical inconsistency if we accept that ethnicity may play a part in ability (which it probably doesn't, but it's an interesting thought path to follow): then can we choose against someone for it in the same way we choose against somebody born stupid?
I propose that we should be able to choose who to employ (and everything else) by how well they'd do the job, with one qualification: we cannot choose against them if our reason for doing so would be because discrimination against them would compromise their ability to do a job. Because ethnicity is not an absolute disadvantage; at most it can be argued as a social disadvantage in intolerant, racist countries.
Not having the 'disadvantage by social discrimination' clause would be implicitly condoning society's discrimination in allowing others to act by its harmful consequences.
Sorry if my words fell onto the thread all jumbled. I think this makes some sense.

Worst Apple ads ever. You attract more flies with sugar than vinegar, and Apple's all about the vinegar.
Meh, it was effective enough to get in the LA Times...
...the only reason why I didn't like the campaign at first was because I thought it was dull and everyone would pass it by as if it were just another commercial. But according to this article, it sounds like it has generated some definite interest...which, imo, is a good thing.

I just had a stroke of genius. What if, one could harness Gmail's huge amount of server space and somehow have it host your files as if a web server? I don't personally know if it could be done.

yeah, it would only cost them $1000+ to have someone come round to my house and do something about it, well worth the 59 they would sell the end product for
do they check everybodys IP, how do they know i wasn't at wwdc.
Exactly - why would they bother? I'm not sharing it. Plus, I paid for Jaguar (well, the computer it came on), I paid for Panther, I paid for Tiger and I'll 100% certainly be paying for Leopard when it comes out. I want to play with the new features every so often, and get myself all excited about what's to come. How exactly am I hurting Apple? They'd be fools to drive away a long time and dedicated customer by throwing legal issues at me.
