Is filing for 485 to get EAD etc really fraud? I mean it is their JOB to weed out the priority dates that are not current :). Besides if anyone is at fault it is the immigration lawyers.

Hello Friends,
My current AP expires on 2/18/11. My PD (EB-2) has been current since Sept 2010 but no sign of GC yet. I would like to renew my AP and have decided to file myself Vs using the attorney. Has anybody used the e-filing option OR is it better to send in a hard copy of the application.?
If somebody can kindly direct me to the appropriate links on IV for folks who have filed themselves - i would greatly appreciate that. Any advice on supporting documents, etc. would be really helpful.

what does ur online status show btw? also ur dep's earlier checks havent cashed right ? dumb Q :-( one of my friend got in to similar situation he sent it back and checks cashed not sure how much did he sent though.
The status shows application received and rejected. As per the notice the reason is missing signature.The check's haven't cashed..,can you please check with your friend how long it took for him to get the check's cashed after re-sending the application?

Download trial version of Adobe Acrobat professional, type in the form and save the form. Reopen it and verify whether ur data is there or not.
Before u do that on actual form, save a copy of it and do it.

I guess original poster is asking about saving forms after filling it up. You can save the form but the data that you filled up will not be saved. If someone is actually able to save the form along with the data, I'll be interested too to know how.

The document you have reffered is -->EXTENSION OF REGISTRATION PERIOD
FOR CERTAIN NONIMMIGRANTS
and this extension is valid till on or before April 25, 2003
for the following

So irrespective of the above regulation you should have registered if you are from the stated regions unless the original regulation also stated the above points. In that case you need not register based on the 1st point but would have to register based on the 4th point ***If you will remain in the United States at least until April 25, 2003.****. So cannot understand why you were mislead....

I believe AC21 is for shifting employers on EAD after 180 days of I-485.

what is mandatory?.....what happens if a person has to move 6 months after they file I-485.....aint they going to change their address??.....can we use AR-11 to do that?....there is no way I can wait for 4 years at my current place to get my green card in hand.....would appreciate any suggestions
It's against the law not to provide CIS your new address within 10 days (?) of your move. FYI, it is mandatory even after you get GC...

Sorry to say this is gone case. Try exploring the option of filing another I-140with the other approved labor you have. Also, make sure that labor has provisions to make your new I-140 approvable. Otherwise, you will be hitting against the wall twice!!

If you can convert to EB2 ( eligible for it ) and recapture your earlier PD of EB3 then it would be the best course of action . If you keep on waiting for the bills to pass ( and they don't since this is an election year ) then you would just lose time.
I know we are all frustrated because of this seemingly endless wait but I am positive - it is not endless . It will end one way or the other - for some sooner and for others later.

Being current means very little. I've been there 3 times over the last few years. 4 years after filing my 485, and 2 RFEs later(each generated during a PD current period BTW) and 3 "currents", I am still waiting. I am on my 5th EAD.
So while optimism is good, with the USCIS don't get too hopeful. Incompetence abounds.

Can anyone suggest me a good health insurance policy for the state of TN? What are the things that are important and what should be ignored? Most of the time I dont understand the technical terms used in it.
Currently I have one from a big health insurance company bought on the internet. I thought I was covered well. Every year they are raising the premium by about $30.00/month. I want to get another one, if anyone has bought from the open market please let me know.

Hello All,
Just curious and needed your opinion. My wife has a valid H4 status until 2010 (no visa but petition approved). She used her EAD card for all of 5 days about a year ago and then has not worked since then. I am confused if I need to apply for renewal of her EAD to maintain her legal status in the country considering having used EAD for 5 days might have triggered her out of H4 status. Any thoughts on this? Do i need to renew her EAD to maintain her legal status in the country even with a valid H4 petition until 2010? We also have 485 petition filed and pending over 180 days. I am wondering if it is required for a person with 485 pending for over 180 days to always maintain a valid EAD card even though they are not employeed. Thank you all in advance.
No it is not required to maintain valid EAD if you are in AOS.

No it is not required to maintain valid EAD if you are in AOS.

1) If i file a non-profit h1b visa , i was suggested that i can work immediately, is that true?
As far as I understood cap-exempt visa are not for all non profits. It is for non profit research organizations only. That is the reason most universities/charity research organizations qualify for it.
3) I have been searching monster, indeed etc to find a sponsorer for my visa, i attended 2 interviews till now and cleared them too but when it comes to work permit they are not willing to do h1 for me. I have lost all hopes and posting here to find out if there are any companies who are willing to do h1b.
Try not to going through any consulting stuff just to file in April. Consulting companies are going through rough phase and USCIS is getting very strict with them (this is just my preception from what I am hearing around).
