Sounds a bit like the CEO of Sony when the Xbox was released...lets just hope microsoft doesn't do to this industry leader what it did to Sony
Hmm.. I think the XBox 360 didn't really have any impact on the sales of the PS2, since these two products don't necessarily compete (the XBox 360 is more a highend product, where PS2 stands for affordable entertainment). However, I believe that the Xbox will pretty much kill the PS3 sales.. if there are two platforms whose power isn't even tickled by currently available games, why buy the more expensive one?
As for the MicroPod: We've yet to see if Microsoft manages to come up with a simple enough product.

The iPod is a good device, but for mature and affluent consumers, it's a neutered iPhone. They are good for kids and the shuffle is brilliant for exercise. After 10 years of age it is starting to be surpassed in the market by the tech it helped foster.

I hope so! But if I get a MPB then theres no way I could get a ipod video. Ohwell I would be getting a 2.33ghz core 2 duo 15.4inch macbook pro with 2gb of ram, good grpahics, Dual 6x Double Layer Superdrive, FW800, FW400, Two USBs, 120gb!

heya,
At first, I thought it was more stable.
However something seems to have gone wrong with my audio.
iTunes won't start, when I try it brings up an error message:
The iTunes application could not be opened. An unknown error occurred (-200).
There is no sound in Flash videos (Safari or Chrome) is missing, or any sound in Jitsi (VoIP client), or in MPlayer (Video player).
Strangely enough, QuickTime has sound. Have no idea what's going on here.

Not really sure why Apple can't bring themselves to put an i7 by default in a $2,000 machine. That's kind of ridiculous.
Because it would cost them another $100 in parts without increasing sales. This way they make more money per sale and will make even more from those who want it. There would be no processor upgrade path if they put the i7 as default.

Will it support playing graphic intensive Windows games? That's the only think Parallels doesn't do for me. Also, is there any indication of a price?
Competition is always good, but they're going to have their work cut out for them to get me to switch away from Parallels.

Apple raked in 6 billion dollars in the first quarter of Q1. That's three months. Oh, by 6 billion I meant in gross. I think that's more than Microsoft made... not sure though.

What's the next logical step in a computer interface? I used to say "Computer, show me the money" to open Quicken back in pre-OS X days. More of a gimmick than anything else, but imagine if the Finder and maybe even other apps became "speakable."

Computer: "You have nine new messages. Would you like me to read them?"
Me: "No, thanks."

This kind of thing can't be too far off. A 75 mhz Performa could do it in a rudimentary way. Imagine what a modern Mac may be able to do. "Speakeasy" has a nice ring to it.

The top 3.1 Ghz 27" iMac has a cheaper i5-2400 CPU, than the low-end 27" and high-end 21.5", with both have i5-2500S processors!

MBP = 4 years old
iMac = 3 years old
And both will be upgraded to Lion. No problems yet , even 1080p content plays well, slight lag to catch up when RWD or FF other than that no problems. :)
Apple do have some great lines. My iMac is 5 years old yet I just finished Portal 2 (in Bootcamp, medium settings at native res. Overclocked GPU), I've developed and tested HD games, watched HD films on it, managed very large data libraries (iPhoto; 50gb. iTunes; 320gb). Still runs just fine.
Infact I could have survived another year on it if the DVD drive didn't recently pack in.

Already beat the campaign. It was freaking awesome. There's definitely a few things I'd change; but the whole game is just filled with fan service.
Then, this afternoon I finally found a copy of Phantasy Star Portable 2. It came out today, but almost no stores are carrying it. Which is a shame, because I absolutely LOVE the Phantasy Star Online series. I've already put over 10 hours into the demo alone.
